  1. BRAKING MODULATION
    1. Smooth the squeeze
    2. Front: more stopping power
    3. Rear: speed scrub
    4. Avoid skidding
    5. Avoid suspension compression
  2. BODY POSITION
    1. Torso low & back
    2. Heels dropped
    3. Heavy feet, light hands
  3. WHERE TO STOP
    1. Brake before obstacles/corners
    2. Speed control: know your stopping distance
  4. SHIFTING & CADENCE
    1. Shift BEFORE pedaling gets hard
    2. Ease pedal pressure during shift
    3. Gear choice: can you accelerate?
    4. Ideal RPM: all-day gear
    5. Shift often = optimum performance
