MTB SKILLS CLASS 5 OF 5: DROPS & ROLLOVERS

  1. STEEP TRANSITIONS/ROLLOVERS
    1. Approach in READY Position
    2. EXPLODE: Push bike forward and down
    3. RETURN to ready/neutral
    4. Limited by BB/chainring height
  2. UP & OVER STEEP OBSTACLES
    1. Front wheel lift
    2. Rear wheel lift to finish mounting obstacle
    3. EXPLODE: Push bike forward and down
    4. RETURN to ready/neutral
  3. DROPS: Manual technique
    1. Ready position
    2. L-shaped explosion down, then back
    3. Return to neutral
    4. Direct front wheel to landing
    5. Absorb landing into ready position
    6. More speed = less manual
    7. Too much speed overshoots landing
  4. DRILLS
    1. Roll down a curb
    2. Manual off a curb
    3. Hold/ride the manual longer
    4. Hold/ride manual at slower speeds
