Alex Martens
Owner & Coach
Raised here in Bentonville, AR, Alex has been an avid mountain biker for 18 years. He enjoys many forms of cycling: gravel, mountain biking, and paved trail riding. Always welcome to a challenge, Alex finished 11th in the Arkansas High Country Race in 2019. During college, Alex spent four summers in California as a Whitewater Raft Guide, which sparked his joy for guiding. He has a PMBIA Level 1 certification and has been coaching full-time for three years. Alex is also a trained Wilderness First Responder, so he can keep clients safe when showing them the beauty of our Northwest Arkansas trail systems. The Buffalo Headwaters Trails are his favorite due to their pristine beauty.
Alli Martens
Owner
Alli grew up exploring the outdoors in the Arkansas River Valley. She loves kayaking, mountain biking, camping, fishing, and most of all, rock climbing. She was a Special Education Teacher for 5 years, until becoming a full-time mom of three little girls. Now she handles most of the behind the scenes work, talking with clients and keeping everything and everyone at OBG organized. Kessler Mountain and Blowing Springs are her favorite riding destinations in NWA.
Carson Coady
Guide & Coach
Carson is the “mountain man” of the team. (Think mini Sasquatch)
Making his cycling debut on a dirt track with a Redline in the early 90’s…
Now he thrives on being in the woods and making our many local activities accessible to those of all skill levels, mobility and backgrounds.
His favorite way to start the day: 5am ride (Eww)
When he’s not riding, Carson loves to climb rocks, skateboard, paddle, backpack with his dog, and try any sport he can.
Carson’s happiest moments are spent loving on our community! That’s you!
If you see him out, say hello!
Jessica Green
Guide & Coach
Jessica Green loves sharing adventures with visitors to the area. When she's not out leading tours she's helping to coach a local Junior High NICA Mountain Bike team, riding her favorite sections of trails around the Back 40 and Little Sugar, or spending time with her husband and three loving cats. Her favorite tour guide experience was in 2021 when she helped a group of 13 ride the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route. Before leading tours, she worked in bicycle retail for 10 years and spent 20 years as an avid mountain and road bike racer. Jessica loves meeting new people who are passionate about riding and enjoys seeing them experience the world from the seat of a bicycle. Her favorite on-the-road snack is bacon! Wilderness First Responder- CPR, AED NICA L 2 Coach
James Beatty
Guide & Coach
James is a dirt jumper at heart but also loves all things cycling related. He started in BMX and transferred over to MTB 4 years ago. James specializes in big jumps/drops and "hooligan" skills. Steep lips make his heart flutter and a good set of corners puts a massive smile on his face. You'll usually find him at the local jump spot The Railyard bike park throwing tricks and having as many laughs as he can muster.
Josh Wooten
Guide & Coach
Josh started mountain biking four years ago when his cousin Nina took him on a bike ride at Slaughter Pen. Since then it's become his life. He rides some kind of bike every day: BMX, dirt jumper, mountain bikes, and more recently gravel grinding. He's a full-time bike mechanic at Highroller Cyclery and is proud to take part in the amazing local cycling scene. He's also a graduate with the first class out of the brand new Bike Tech Program at NWACC.
Sarah Bodine
Guide & Coach
Sarah's favorite trail is Devil's Racetrack at Devil's Den.
She loves working with riders of all ages from 2 to 92! She's been adventuring by bicycle for her whole adult life. She even spent a whole summer riding across the country with no plan and no cell phone, just a bicycle and an open road. Her specialty is getting more smiles per mile than anyone else on a bike, she is a professional at having fun on two wheels.
Joey Cracchiolo
Guide & Coach
Joey is an avid rider and former bike mechanic. He loves the gnarly chunky rock trails, but always enjoys a casual pedal around Slaughter Pen. His favorite part about his job is being able to show people places that they haven't seen or inspiring confidence in beginner/intermediate riders to safely do features they haven't done before. Joey's favorite post ride snack is a thick PB&J. His favorite Trail system is Coler.
Sam Pearson
Guide & Coach
Sam has been an avid mountain biker & outdoor enthusiast for years. Starting with riding mountain bikes in the early 90’s in the foothills of Boise, ID. He moved back to Arkansas in 1999 and started racing mountain bikes, Adventure Races, and enjoying the hiking trails of NWA. He has served on several committees and boards for Bentonville- Parks Board, Master Trails, Master Planning, and others. He is now retired, and enjoys coaching, teaching and guiding MTB. He also serves on the OZ MTB Patrol, is certified in advanced First Aid, (NOLS) Wilderness First Aid, EMR, AED, CPR, and is a NICA Level 3 coach.
Fun fact: Sam had one of the first, if not the first, 29er bikes (2002) in NWA.
Jessica Rockson
Guide & Coach
Jessica loves outdoor adventures primarily by way of two-wheels. Thanks to her 20+years in the US Coast Guard, she was able to experience the outdoors in many different locations on both sides of the country before settling smack dab in the middle (NWA). She loves helping others achieve skills they didn't think they were capable of doing. It's also wonderful watching others experience the joy of seeing and riding our local trails for the first time. As an older female athlete (she races mtb, gravel, and cyclocross) she is a mentor for other women and youth in our community. She and her husband moved to NWA 4yrs ago because of the growing trail systems and cycling community. Her favorite trail systems in NWA are Blowing Springs and Kessler due their combination of chunky rocks and flowy terrain.

Al Perea
Guide
Growing up in South Louisiana, Al was always outside enjoying the Sportsman’s Paradise. Although there were no hills where he grew up, he gained his enthusiasm for mountain biking after he graduated high school and went to live with his relatives in Georgia for six months. At that time, his cousin Rusty was the number one junior cyclist in Georgia, and took Al along on all his training sessions and mountain bike trips into the hills of North Georgia. Years later, when Al met his wife Jacqueline in Grad school, his love for mountain biking was re-ignited. They raced together in the AMBCS. Now, he enjoys riding with friends and family on all the amazing trails in NWA.
Jacqueline Perea

Jacqueline loves being outside and enjoying the thrill and challenge of mountain biking. She is a local who has enjoyed seeing the development of the mountain biking trail system in northwest Arkansas. She loves to mountain bike with her husband and her two daughters. She loves to share her passion of mountain biking with people and seeing their excitement as they ride the trails. One of her favorite trail systems in NWA is the Karst trail at Hobbs State park. It’s a fun ride with beautiful views of Beaver Lake and rock formations.

Brent has worked with the POA, the City, & community leaders to develop both the Master Trail & Greenway Plan and the city’s 20-year comprehensive economic development plan. He’s a long time active member of our local mountain bike club (F.A.S.T.), and volunteers with the Trail Adoption Program (T.A.P) and the OZ Mountain Bike Patrol.
